The Pricing Analyst is an integral contributor on projects related to profitability analyses on legal matters, as well as billing rate and complex alternative fee arrangements administration as well as financial analytics on legal matters. The candidate should strive to provide attorneys and clients with the highest-quality customer service by becoming a subject-matter expert in all pricing related matters. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality in order to establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

This role reports to the Pricing Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Modeling matter profitability and providing scenario analysis to support pricing decisions for firm management.
• Researching and identifying existing/historical firm matters that may provide a baseline for billing attorneys in developing budgets for new matters.
• Creating analysis and designing reports or presentations to display pricing trends.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure that the correct data is being captured and that the appropriate tools are available to provide accurate pricing analytics.
• Analyzing client performance data to identify pricing opportunities.
• Performing ad hoc analyses using the firm's various data stores and tools.

Qualifications:

• General understanding of the fundamental elements of pricing
• Must be a proactive, self-starter who understands the details and can integrate them into a much larger strategic context.
• Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability are required.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e., formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation).
• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills are required to build and maintain effective relationships with senior management, attorneys and staff.

Experience:

• BA needed in one or more of business, economics, law, finance, accounting, mathematics
• Minimum 2 years of business experience is required
• Experience in pricing or law firm experience is a plus
