    A global professional services firm seeks an Accounting Specialist to join their team.

    The Accounting Specialist will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance.     Responsibilities:

    As an Accounting Specialist at firm, you will be responsible for coordinating firmwide accounting duties such as, monthly account reconciliations, analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, processing journal entries, processing intercompany transactions and reconciliations, processing fixed asset transactions, and preparing month end reports. In addition, you will perform special projects such as pulling support for tax audits and preparing financial analysis for the tax department. You, along with the Financial Accounting Supervisor, will interact with firm’s entities and provide guidance to other Accountants accordingly, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

     

    • Performing analysis and/or reconciliation of general ledger and bank accounts, identifying problematic issues, researching and identifying best solutions, and taking appropriate action to resolve identified problems by making corrections and adjusting balances; generating or preparing monthly financial statements, management reports, and trend analysis for firm management, both on a regular and ad hoc basis; acting as a liaison with Tax Department personnel, responding to requests, providing research and analysis, and preparing tax schedules as needed
    • Reviewing, generating, and distributing general ledger details; analyzing general ledger accounts of the firm, preparing journal entries, and correcting balances or making recommendations to senior management
    • Recording all cash transfers between units
    • Reviewing intercompany ledger details, reconciling the general ledger to the sub-ledger, and making corrections if any issues are identified; preparing intercompany bills based on the general ledger, reconciling invoices to the general ledger, and processing intercompany settlements between units
    • Coordinating with fixed asset analyst to record fixed asset disposals, additions, and transfers
    • Responding to internal and external client inquiries by utilizing the financial system to research and retrieve data for reporting and analysis
    • Completing special projects on various topics as needed


     Qualifications:

    • The successful Specialist must have thorough knowledge of bookkeeping procedures such as posting, balancing, debits and credits, and journal entries.
    • The ideal candidate should possess thorough knowledge of complex accounting principles, as well as the analytical skills needed to correctly comprehend and communicate data, and analyze and reconcile accounts.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field is required.
    • A minimum of three (3) years of related accounting experience is desired, along with experience in auditing, financial reporting, and intercompany accounting.
