    Job Description

    CONSUMER ATTORNEY MARKETING GROUP, a Woodland Hills based advertising agency that combines media buying expertise, industry experience and intensive analytics to deliver the most effective TV, radio & digital campaigns, is currently accepting applications for a Database Administrator. This position will serve as a member of an innovative team of developers within a rapidly expanding organization that provides room for advancement and growth.

    The Sr. Database Administrator/Engineer (DBA/DBE) provides expertise in maintaining the production instances at its optimal state, helps create test environment for development, manages database projects in Jira and git using visual studio, provides stewardship on best practices for sustainable development and securing database infrastructure, provides expertise in designing and maintaining database solutions for SQL Server. This position will be configuring database project for continuous delivery, providing on-call support as required.

    Responsibilities:

    · Own all aspects of database administration, including backup, recovery, replication, clustering, advanced performance tuning, and proactive monitoring

    · Responsible for optimizing the database architectural design, including data partitioning and application partitioning

    · Responsible for creating/updating schema, fine tuning indexes, writing complex queries to support cross-functional teams

    · Maintain, build, support, tune, and monitor both development and production databases

    · Build a new Data Warehouse on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon (Athena or Redshift) or Snowflake

    · Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating user operations workflow, and the ease of user-application interactions

    · Versions control all database logic using GitLabs

    · Implement all database changes through a system like Liquibase or Sqitch

    · Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external policies

    · Responsible for HIPAA compliance with data security regulations

     

    Qualifications:

    · 8+ years of experience administering MySQL replication, configuration, and deployment strategies

    · Highly proficient in all aspects of database administration, including backup/recovery/replication, clustering, advanced performance tuning, and proactive monitoring

    · Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identify and apply fixes for known errors, and when necessary have the capacity to think outside of the box to resolve complex issues

    · Strong knowledge in database architectural design, including data partitioning and application partitioning

    · Solid work experience creating/updating schema, fine tuning indexes, writing complex queries to support cross-functional teams

    · Solid understanding of distributed systems, different levels of data consistency, CAP theorem

    · Understand data locking concepts and the different levels of locking in MySQL

    · Demonstrable experience of administering Linux based systems

    · Strong scripting experience (shell, Python, etc.)

    · Experience in cloud hosted infrastructure on public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

    · Experience with Git, Ansible, Jenkins is a plus.

    · DevOps Mindset is a plus.

    · CS degree or equivalent

    · MySQL DBA, MySQL Professional Certifications a plus

    · Experience cleaning, merging, and importing data from multiple sources (csv, xml, json) a plus

    · Excellent and strong written and spoken English
