    Job Description

    ** General Responsibilities:**

    • Research and help develop consumer stories for use in local TV news consumer segments.
    • Investigate viewer complaints, and where possible, facilitate dispute resolutions.
    • Will assist reporters and station segment producers in gathering information and elements for consumer stories.
    • Assess and prioritize time-sensitive news tips to be sent to assignment desk editors.
    • Assess and prioritize viewer case submissions that are potentially airable stories.
    • Track and provide consumer trend reports to stations.
    • Work with Public Information Officers and Media Relations who assist in dispute resolutions and provide official statements.
    • Research and update government and NGO resources to be provided to viewers as referrals.
    • Respond to every viewer complaint submission.
    • Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with each market’s Reporters, News Directors, and Producers.

    Qualifications

    ** Basic Qualifications:**

    • Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
    • Need to have solid research skills.
    • Should have excellent phone and communication skills.

    ** Eligibility Requirements** :

    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

    • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
    • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

    ** Desired:**

    • 4-year college degree, journalism preferred. Outside experience in a related field will also be considered.
    • Experience working in a local TV newsroom.
    • Need to have great organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

    Salary range: $50,000-$57,000.
