    Location: Norfolk, VA

    Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week

    Pay: $20 per hour

    Position Overview
    The Public Relations & Marketing Office is seeking a Content Creation Assistant to support the development of marketing materials for the Norfolk Public Library system. This role is ideal for a creative individual who enjoys graphic design, social media content creation, and digital storytelling. The selected candidate will assist with producing engaging visual and video content that promotes library programs, services, and community initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design flyers, brochures, booklets, social media graphics, and digital display slides using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud products
    • Create visual content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter)
    • Write scripts for short-form social media content, including Facebook Reels
    • Film and edit short-form videos that follow current social media trends
    • Participate in and appear in short-form video content when needed
    • Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for library events and services

    Qualifications
    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A strong understanding of graphic design principles
    • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
    • Experience with copyediting and content writing
    • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) platforms and trends

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience creating short-form social media videos
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a creative environment
    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
