    SUPERINTENDENT - VIRGINIA

    The Superintendent leads the Field Operations and works in partnership with our Project Management team to build a safe, high quality, profitable project. The Superintendent role is key to fostering great client relations and developing our employees.

    This position is responsible all field operations including: safety, quality, productivity, planning and scheduling, equipment management, client relations, team building, risk management, cost estimation, subcontractor management, and execution strategy.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads and enforces the safety policies and procedures and addresses non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors and vendors.
    • Executes the project through the use of the Quality Management System. Prevents rework, recognizes any potential patterns of rework, and develops solutions to eliminate it.
    • Sets, communicates, and enforces production goals and schedules with the crews.
    • Leads the development of the project schedule with the Project Manager and ensures the team is executing to the plan.
    • Accurately develops the Four Week Look Ahead schedule weekly and adheres to the schedule.
    • Implements effective cost controls over labor, material, equipment, and other related expenditures.
    • Works to beat the labor and other cost budgets.
    • Trains Foremen on pre-planning, surveying, plan reading, productivity, efficiency, economical crew size, quality workmanship, and safety to ensure projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.
    • Utilizes daily huddles to promote communication, resolve issues and share ideas, so the projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.
    • Reviews all Foreman and Daily Reports as well as Subcontractor's Daily Reports for accurate hours, time coding, production quantities, and activity summaries.
    • Knows the key operational details of the subcontract and holds the subcontractors accountable to their agreement and the company's standards.
    • Actively seeks ways to keep the equipment fleet to a minimum to control costs. Actively promotes a culture of equipment care.
    • Actively develops client relations to generate opportunities for new work.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Five or more years of relevant construction industry experience with progressively greater responsibility.
    • Master Electrical License is preferred
    • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead a diverse group of individuals.
    • Prior experience as a construction Foreman a plus.
    • Successfully led relatively complex construction projects. Variables may include difficult client relations and/ or complexity of scope of work.
    • Expert knowledge of various areas of construction (electrical, earthwork, utilities, structures, mechanical, etc.)
    • Expert knowledge of the basic OSHA Safety regulations
    • Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
    • Proactive and pragmatic thinker is deliberate and decisive in making decisions.
    • Self-directed, organized and self-motivated to accomplish goals.
    • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced challenging environment.
    • Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
    • Track record of achievement and career progression.
    • Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, P3/P6 Primavera software.
    • Must be open to travel or relocation
