Contingent Occupational Therapist

Surgeon's Choice Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our collaborative interdisciplinary team for Saturday coverage. In this role, you will primarily provide occupational therapy services to inpatient rehabilitation patients, with occasional treatment of post-operative orthopedic patients.

This position offers flexible Saturday hours, with shifts typically ranging from 2 to 6 hours, depending on patient census. It is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist seeking occasional weekend work, supplemental income, or a flexible schedule that complements another position.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and assess patients’ functional abilities, needs, and treatment goals.

Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.

Provide interventions to improve patients’ daily living skills, mobility, and safety.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, adaptive techniques, and equipment use.

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with company and hospital policies.

Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

Licensure: Current and valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Michigan.

Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred but not required.

Skills: Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient engagement skills.
