The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for enterprise-wide Lean & Six Sigma initiatives, driving strategic projects aligned with annual Hoshin planning and budget goals, with a focus on operational excellence and financial impact (projects ~$500k+). The Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead training programs, certifies team members across belt levels, and supports cross-functional process improvements across sites.
Responsibilities:
Lead high-impact Lean & Six Sigma Black Belt projects (~$500K+ each) aligned with Annual Hoshin Planning.
Facilitate strategic planning sessions including Value Stream and Value Chain Mapping.
Support cross-functional alignment and prioritization of Lean projects across business units.
Develop and manage annual Lean & Six Sigma training plans and certification programs.
Conduct belt-level training (White to Black) and improve course materials.
Deploy and coach on Production System (SPS) and related KPIs.
Define and manage Lean & Six Sigma program KPIs, roadmaps, and maturity models.
Maintain project funnels ensuring alignment with operational and financial targets.
Support RCA and corrective actions (PK, A3, Apollo) across quality and operations.
Collaborate with IT on developing dashboards and project tracking tools.
Drive belt certification performance and coach team members to successful project closure.
Assist sites with data analysis, asset utilization, and MES system improvements.
Benchmark internal and external Lean & Six Sigma practices for continuous improvement.
Support Safety, Engineering, and Sales in embedding Lean into product and process innovation.
Participate in enterprise-wide CI and quality summits, share-and-learn sessions, and benchmarking events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (Engineering preferred).
7+ years working in a Process Improvement, Quality or Operational Excellence organization
5+ years in a company with a strong, recognized Lean & Six Sigma program and culture.
3+ years Project Management experience managing large-scale, x-functional projects.
Proven record of results managing in a matrix environment.
Demonstrated Minitab proficiency and teaching Minitab to others.
