    Job Description

    The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist supports ongoing improvement efforts within the manufacturing facility. This role works closely with the CI Manager, production supervisors, and team members to implement LEAN manufacturing principles, standardize work processes, and drive efficiency throughout the plant. The CI Specialist will play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement, revising documentation, and helping facilitate Kaizen and other continuous improvement events.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the development, documentation, and revision of Standard Work instructions and procedures to ensure consistency and best practices across operations.
    • Support and help facilitate Kaizen events, including preparation, data collection, event participation, and follow-up on action items.
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify waste, improve workflow, and enhance productivity using LEAN tools such as 6S, Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Collect and analyze production data to support decision-making and track the impact of improvement initiatives.
    • Provide hands-on support on the plant floor to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.
    • Promote and model a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability throughout the facility.
    • Assist in training and coaching employees on CI tools, techniques, and best practices.
    • Participate in and support other CI or optimization projects as assigned by the CI Manager.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment required (cabinet or wood manufacturing preferred).
    • Basic understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic data analysis.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to stand and move throughout the facility as needed.
