    Job Description

    The Opportunity: The Contract Bankruptcy Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance. The Specialist will make decisions and recommendations regarding Cram Downs, Redemptions, Objections and all other activities related to bankrupt accounts to mitigate overall risk and losses in the bankruptcy department.

    What You Will Do:

    · Manages bankruptcy portfolio and assignments of Bankruptcy Department

    · Monitors bankruptcy processes; assess/remediate gaps on root cause analysis

    · Approves all exception conditions or non-routine actions

    · Identifies and resolve filing deficiencies in an efficient manner by working with appropriate resources

    · Drives initiatives to enhance adherence to local, state and federal regulatory compliance and deliver performance related to internal or external process changes

    · Analyzes, identifies and corrects data issues with systems used by the business

    · Monitors all aspects of bankruptcy accounts, including court filings, payments received and deadlines

    · Prepares and files bankruptcy proof of claims, reaffirmation agreements and notices

    · Responds to bankruptcy inquiries from courts, customers, attorneys and trustees

    · Provides cross-training and educates the staff on bankruptcy related processes and laws

    · Notifies the Servicing and Collections departments promptly to avoid violations of automatic stay

    · Creates and implements processes that results in improved business performance

    · Keeps current on internal and external compliance procedures and bankruptcy laws including unique requirements at the federal, state and district level

    · Provides subject matter expertise on processes when representing department in projects/meetings

    · Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned

    The Experience You Will Bring:

    · Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience

    · 1 - 3 years bankruptcy experience

    · Must possess basic understanding of fundamentals of Chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcy processes

    · Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    · Must be able to present oneself professionally to customers, teammates, and all internal and external partners

    · Must display an ability to manage and raise concerns up to leadership

    · Must be self-motivated

    · Display problem solving skills

    · Ability to work in high pressure environment

    · Strong organization skills and strong attention to detail

    · Excellent communicate and negotiate

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Paralegal certificate
