Job Description

Forbes Advisor is looking for a part-time Contract Editor with experience in personal finance, branded and sponsored content, working with multiple brands, and writing and editing advertiser-focused custom content. The ideal candidate should have a passion for writing high-quality content and an interest in a broad range of personal finance and related categories. The role will focus on producing paid custom content for Forbes Advisor and Forbes Health.

We want to guide our readers to make smart, informed decisions through well-researched and informed topics. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating and editing content—including articles, social media copy, email marketing and short video scripts—while working alongside the branded team and collaborating with our sales, video and social teams.

_ Responsibilities:_

• Edit and write various creative elements from ideation to production, including sponsored and branded articles, social copy, newsletters, short video scripts and other copy as needed
• Generate compelling creative pitches tailored to clients and collaborate closely with our sales, design, video and social media teams to brainstorm new content implementation ideas that align with advertiser goals
• Collaborate with the deputy editor and staff writer to build and scale branded content efforts, including editing and writing campaign-related copy across existing and emerging platforms
• Work closely with the deputy editor and staff writer in managing the day-to-day content workflow and requests for sponsored campaigns
• Consistently write and publish high-performing content that drives traffic and engagement
• Ensure sponsored content is factually accurate and appropriate for publication on Forbes Advisor adhering to in-house and AP style guidelines
• Work collaboratively with the global editorial and content leadership teams, as well as sales, video, design and social to create and manage all creative content, ensuring deliverables are met
• Leverage Forbes Advisor data to execute creative strategies across all content in line with client objectives, editorial content guidelines and SEO best practices
• Work cross-functionally to promote content across Forbes Advisor channels, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube and Shorts, and more

Requirements:

• At least 3-4 years of experience in digital media, with a focus on personal finance
• At least 1-2 years of experience writing or editing branded content for a publisher, creative studio or agency preferred
• Strong client-facing presentation skills
• Extensive knowledge of social media and digital media
• Ability to independently hit multiple deadlines across a variety of projects
• Strong understanding of consumer, health care or small business topics
• Experience with FTC best practices, or a willingness to learn and expand skills
• Ability to ideate, research, write and edit quickly on a variety of topics
• Organized, detail-oriented, nimble and open to changes in strategy
• Familiarity with Airtable a plus

This position is a part-time contract editor role (20 to 30 hours a week) at an hourly rate of $35 per hour. This is a 10-month contract position. ****
