We are a fully remote firm operating within Washington state and are seeking an experienced attorney for a consistent, flexible, part-time role. Why Attorneys Contract with Truce Law (Compensation & Flexibility) We are looking for a dedicated contractor to provide high-quality legal support on a flexible, part-time basis. • Contract Rate: $150 per billed hour.Target Hours: 10–20 hours per week, offering excellent flexibility for your existing schedule. • Fully Remote: Practice from anywhere within Washington state. • Support: Access to firm-provided systems and support staff (paralegals, legal assistants, billing team) to ensure efficiency and focus on legal work. • Collaboration: Join a supportive team of experienced attorneys dedicated to collaborative strategy and reducing conflict. Note: As this is a contract position, the attorney is an independent contractor and will not receive firm benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, or 401(k) contributions. Responsibilities: What You’ll Do: Champion Collaboration Your role centers on applying your expertise to guide clients through thoughtful, conflict-reducing solutions, backed by a strong support team, within your contracted hours. • Lead with Negotiation: Develop thoughtful strategies to meet client goals, prioritizing negotiation and settlement to achieve stable futures. • Conflict-Reduction: Actively pursue and implement collaborative solutions, minimizing the need for adversarial court proceedings. • Advocate Responsibly: Represent clients in court when necessary, maintaining the firm's commitment to respect and long-term resolution. • High-Quality Output: Review and finalize all legal documentation (pleadings, motions, agreements, judgments, and orders) efficiently. • Mentorship & Support: Work closely and collaboratively with other firm attorneys and the assigned support team (paralegal and legal assistant) on case strategy and execution. Qualifications: Who We’re Looking For: The Collaborative Advocate You are a contract professional committed to both excellence and empathy who can manage your time and workload effectively within a flexible structure. • Experience & Licensure: Current Washington State Bar license with 5+ years of family law experience.The Truce Mindset: Demonstrably collaborative, growth-minded, and empathetic approach to law and colleagues. • Communication Mastery: Strong communication, organizational, and truly client-centered skills. • Independence & Reliability: Proven ability to manage a part-time workload, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment while maintaining consistent communication. • Team Focused: Motivated to advocate for clients’ best long-term interests while valuing teamwork and professional development.
