Remote Contract Paralegal – Insurance Defense & Coverage Litigation

We are seeking an experienced Contract Paralegal with potential for a full time role as an employee to support our attorneys in high-stakes litigation and insurance defense cases on an as-needed basis. This role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work with a respected, growing firm while maintaining independence as a contract professional. While the majority of work can be remote, location in or close to The Woodlands, TX is preferred as there is a need for twice-a-week in-office work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with case management, legal research, and document preparation.
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and correspondence.
• Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and insurance policies.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Assist in trial preparation, including compiling exhibits and witness coordination.
• Communicate professionally with clients, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Coordinate discovery, subpoenas, and depositions as needed.
• Work in-office part-time twice a week.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in insurance defense, construction defect, and coverage litigation.
• Strong knowledge of Florida and Texas court rules and procedures.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal technology, case management software, and Microsoft Office.
• Paralegal certification or relevant degree preferred.
