    About Us

For over 20 years, Larry’s Service and Towing has proudly served Armada and the surrounding community. Alongside our full-service auto repair shop, we also operate a local tractor dealership, Vanpaemel’s Sales & Service, and Armada Mini Storage — all locally owned, all close-knit, and all growing.

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented financial professional to oversee the accounting and financial operations of all three businesses.

    Position Summary

This role is ideal for someone who loves knowing the numbers inside and out.

As our Controller / Accounting Manager, you’ll be responsible for tracking every dollar coming in and out, maintaining clean and accurate financials, and providing clear insight to ownership. You’ll work directly with ownership and be a key part of financial decision-making — including cash flow planning and equipment purchases.

This is not a corporate accounting job. It’s a real-world, hands-on role where accuracy, accountability, and efficiency matter.

    Key Responsibilities

Oversee accounting and financial operations for three small businesses

    Maintain accurate books using QuickBooks

Monitor cash flow and ensure nothing slips through the cracks

Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries for ownership

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Track expenses, revenue, and profitability by business

Help identify available funds for equipment purchases and investments

Improve and maintain internal financial controls

Coordinate with outside accountants as needed (taxes, year-end reporting)

    What We’re Looking For

    Required:

    Strong proficiency in QuickBooks

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Solid understanding of small-business accounting and cash flow

Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities

    Strong communication skills and professionalism

    Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3–7 years of accounting or financial management experience

Experience working with multiple entities or business types

Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant background

(CPA/CMA a plus, but not required.)

    Other Benefits

    Flexible schedule once established

    Potential work-from-home day each week

    Strong work-life balance

Opportunity to grow with the business

Direct access to ownership and real decision-making authority

    Why This Role Is Different

Small, local businesses — not a corporate environment

High level of trust and autonomy

Flexible schedule focused on results, not clock-watching

A chance to truly own the financial side of the operation
