    Job Summary

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee all financial operations for our growing manufacturing company. This position plays a key role in managing accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is hands-on, able to work independently, and comfortable supporting both high-level financial strategy and day-to-day accounting tasks in a small business environment.

    Financial Management & Reporting

    Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and banking.

    Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

    Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

    Maintain accurate cost accounting records, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis.

    Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts.

    Budgeting & Forecasting

    Develop and manage annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

    Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.

    Provide financial insight to support business planning and decision-making.

    Compliance & Controls

    Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax, labor, and regulatory requirements.

    Coordinate with external CPA firm for tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting.

    Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.

    Leadership

    Supervise and develop accounting staff.

    Collaborate with company leadership to align financial goals with operational objectives.

    Provide clear and timely communication of financial performance and recommendations to management.

    Operations Support

    Partner with production and operations teams to analyze manufacturing costs, inventory levels, and process efficiencies.

    Support purchasing, pricing, and cost analysis decisions.

    Implement and improve financial systems and reporting tools.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Finance required (CPA or CMA preferred).

    Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience preferred.

    Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory control.

    Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting ERP systems; advanced Excel skills.

    Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Ability to work independently in a small-company environment and manage multiple priorities.
