Controller
Palo Alto, CA | Full-time | Hybrid (four days on-site)

Building Talent is partnering with a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm in Palo Alto seeking a Controller to strengthen financial operations, enhance reporting accuracy, and support firm leadership with clear financial visibility.

The Controller will serve as a key financial leader within a professional services environment — overseeing accounting operations, improving systems and data integrity, and partnering closely with executive leadership on financial performance and forward planning.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversight of general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly close
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Leadership of budgeting, forecasting, and revenue/backlog analysisCash flow management, collections, vendor payments, and banking relationships
• Oversight and optimization of Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint data integrity
• Strengthening reporting processes, internal controls, and financial workflows
• Management and development of accounting staff

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Minimum 3+ years supervising staff
• Experience within an architecture or engineering firm
• Strong proficiency in Deltek Vision and/or Vantagepoint

This role is based in Palo Alto, CA. Candidates should currently reside within reasonable commuting distance or be able to reliably work onsite as required.
