We are seeking a Controller to become an integral part of our team! You will oversee financial activities and personnel as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all financial activities
• Payroll
• Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
• Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
• Conduct internal audits to assess financial status
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting management or other related fields
• Strong leadership qualities
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Software

Quickbooks Enterprise Construction Edition (cloud based) - MANDATORY

Excel and entire Microsoft suite (including pivot tables) – MANDATORY

HR Duties

Quickbooks Assisted payroll – pull time from Raken, get approvals, time entry and running payroll, per diem verifications

Certified Payroll reports – wage verifications, report on various platforms for CPR, DIR and OCIP reporting requirements, annual audits

401k tracking, reporting and upload to portal – annual 401k 5500 reporting, annual audit

Benefit tracking, renewals, deductions, annual audit, employee issues

Onboarding and Offboarding through Rippling platform – E-verify, background and DMV checks, drug testing

Compliance Duties

Verify all city and state licenses are current, renew when required, obtain new licenses when required per contracts

GL and all policy insurance renewals and compliance

WC insurance policy insurance renewals and compliance, monthly reporting and payments

Contract compliance regarding billing, CPR, safety, document requirements

Process new jobs per Sales team

Manage preliminary notices and/or liens through Levelset

COI requests and compliance

Notary Public would be a huge plus

AR/AP Duties

Vendor invoice approvals and data entry, job costing and vendor communications

Keep weekly cashflow report for AR/AP up to date, reconcile bank weekly and send to management

Billing WIP report, create, send and track customer invoices and retention

Credit card data entry, job costing and reconciliations

Weekly check run or online payments

Office supply ordering, mail and filing

Controller Duties

Month end closing – verify GL for accuracy

Reconcile all schedules to balance sheet accounts

Monthly accruals and amortizations

Fixed asset depreciation schedules

Monthly WIP report and revenue recognition per GAAP % complete

Monthly sales commission reports
