Overview
We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company to hire a Manufacturing Controller who will lead the accounting function and serve as a key financial partner to operations and executive leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role for a high-energy professional who enjoys being visible, engaged with the business, and actively involved in driving financial performance and process improvement.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a strong Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Director who is ready to step into their first Controller role and take ownership of the full accounting function.
The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide insights that support operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
Prepare and review financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost analysis.
Monitor material, labor, and overhead costs to support profitability.
Partner with operations to improve financial visibility into production performance.
Support physical inventory and ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
Accounting Operations & Team Leadership
Lead the accounting department, including A/R, A/P, general ledger, and related functions.
Develop, mentor, and manage accounting staff.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company standards.
Systems & Process Improvement
Support and optimize ERP and financial systems (Accumatica experience helpful but not required).
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and efficiency.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership.
Business Partnership
Serve as a visible and engaged financial leader within the organization.
Provide financial guidance to support operational decisions and growth initiatives.
Travel up to 10% to support operations in Little Rock.
Requirements
Active CPA required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing accounting experience
Prior public accounting experience preferred
Recent or current titles may include:
Accounting Manager
Accounting Director
Assistant Controller
Experience leading an accounting team and managing full-cycle accounting operations (A/R, A/P, General Ledger, etc.)
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing financial processes
High-energy, hands-on leadership style with strong communication and team presence
