    Position Summary

    The Financial Controller will oversee ECS’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, cost control, and strong internal systems that support our manufacturing and project-based environment. This role is hands-on, bridging daily accounting with strategic financial leadership, and will be instrumental in driving profitability and growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Management

    Oversee AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close.

    Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.

    Maintain job costing, WIP (work in progress), and inventory accuracy.

    Monitor manufacturing costs, overhead allocation, and variance reporting.

    Controls & Compliance

    Establish cost controls and approval workflows for purchasing, subcontracting, and freight.

    Ensure compliance with tax, audit, ISO, DNV, and ABS requirements.

    Coordinate with external auditors and CPA firm on statutory filings.

    Budgeting & Forecasting

    Lead annual budget process and develop rolling cash forecasts.

    Track material costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption against budget.

    Provide management with variance analysis and cost-saving recommendations.

    Strategic & Operational Support

    Partner with operations and project managers to evaluate job profitability.

    Support procurement decisions (forgings, raw materials, vendor services).

    Advise on capital investment (machines, software, facilities) and ROI.

    Leadership & Process Improvement

    Train operations and project teams on cost coding and reporting.

    Drive process improvements in QuickBooks/ERP to enhance job cost visibility.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

    5–10 years of experience in accounting/finance within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

    Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.

    Proficiency with QuickBooks, ERP systems, and Excel (advanced).

    Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
