Controller (Manufacturing) – Your Job Duties
You will work in both a hands on and team management capacity, performing high-impact hands on accounting duties as well as overseeing, managing and mentoring the accounting team.
- Oversee and lead the work of a small accounting department (currently you will oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members, with additional plans to grow and double the size of your team)
- Mentor less experienced staff and elevate their technical abilities in payables, receivables, payroll, cash monitoring and financial analysis
- Foster a positive, stable environment that supports long-tenured teams and supports ongoing learning and career development
- Prepare adjusting journal entries
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures to close the books, and prepare the monthly financial statement packages for review by the CFO
- Perform hands on inventory accounting, manufacturing costing, and labor/material/overhead analysis and standard costing and calculating overhead rates
- Support cash management, cash forecasting, and financial modeling
- Perform revenue recognition calculation in a complex manufacturing environment
- Prepare reporting to support annual strategic planning and budget presentations
Controller (Manufacturing) – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)
You are:
- An experienced people leader that loves mentoring, guiding and overseeing a team – you are excited to continue to grow others and mentor them!
- Someone that enjoys performing both hands-on work and overseeing a team
- Experienced as a Controller, Plant Controller, Senior Cost Accountant or Senior Accountant in a manufacturing environment – you are an overhead allocation cost accountant guru!
- Experienced with performing month-end close procedures
You might have:
- Prior experience working with a public company or SOX internal controls (bring this experience for our future growth plans!)
- Experience with JobBOSS accounting ERP
- MBA or CPA license / prior experience working in public accounting
- Experience with DCAA or DCMA audit / government contracts
Controller (Manufacturing) – Benefits for You
Your compensation will be $135,000 to $160,000, depending on experience.
