    $160,000 – $180,000

     

    Position Overview
    A growing home care agency is seeking a strong, hands-on Controller to lead and scale a high-performing finance team. This role is ideal for a Controller who knows how to build structure, drive accountability, and run a well-oiled operation while supporting a multi-entity, multi-state organization.

    The Ideal Candidate

    • Proven experience leading and developing accounting/finance teams with strong accountability

    • Confident decision-maker who can hire, coach, and make tough calls when needed

    • Strong operational mindset with the ability to build processes and improve systems

    • Advanced Excel skills; strong understanding of GL systems (Intacct a plus)

    • Experience with Viventium payroll and/or HHAexchange is a plus

    • Healthcare experience preferred, home care strongly preferred

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee all accounting functions including GL, AP, cash management, and financial reporting

    • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple entities

    • Prepare consolidated financials across NY and out-of-state operations

    • Manage audits, cost reports, and regulatory filings (LHCSA)

    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, wage parity, overtime, and labor regulations

    • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing accounting team with clear expectations

    • Partner with Operations and HR to drive financial and operational alignment

    • Oversee cash flow, banking relationships, and multi-account forecasting

    • Analyze profitability by payer, service line, and geography; monitor KPIs and margins

    • Support pricing, reimbursement analysis, and payer contract strategy

    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for growth initiatives

    • Support multi-state expansion, new entity setup, and integrations

    • Establish internal controls, policies, and scalable financial systems

    • Oversee ERP, payroll, and billing system improvements/implementations

    • Manage insurance (GL/PL, Workers’ Compensation)

    Qualifications & Must-Haves

    • 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with leadership responsibility

    • Proven ability to manage and scale teams in a fast-paced environment

    • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, audits, and multi-entity structures

    • Healthcare experience preferred, home care (LHCSA/CDPAP) strongly preferred

    • Expertise in Excel and financial systems; Intacct preferred
