This is a build-and-transform Controller role at a CPG company with strong distribution across national retailers, eCommerce, and specialty channels. The team is sharp, collaborative, and performance-oriented without bureaucracy. Leadership values trust, accountability, and people who can operate independently while partnering closely across operations, sales, and supply chain.

In this role, you will…

• Build audit-ready financial infrastructure and lead the company through its first external audit
• Own the monthly close process, delivering accurate financials within a 5–7 day timeline
• Establish and maintain a rigorous 13-week cash flow forecast with clear visibility into liquidity
• Defend and improve gross margin through disciplined cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and variance analysis
• Lead budgeting and forecasting, translating performance into actionable insights for leadership
• Design and implement financial controls, SOPs, and scalable accounting processes
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to align financial strategy with growth

What we’re looking for

• CPA (active) and 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Proven track record preparing a company for a first-time audit
• Experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader in a CPG environment
• Expert Knowledge of building GAAP-compliant processes
• Deep expertise in inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing finance
• Strong command of cash management, including 13-week cash flow forecasting
• Experience operating in multi-channel environments (retail, eCommerce, Amazon, wholesale)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing financial operations for manufacturing facilities including overhead allocation and variance analysis
• Familiarity with Core and Quickbooks
• Experience in FDA-regulated or natural products industries
• Knowledge of Amazon FBA accounting complexities and marketplace dynamics
• Track record supporting high-growth companies through significant scaling phases
• Experience with cleanroom or GMP manufacturing environments
