    Job Title: Controller

    Department: Accounting

    Report to: Director of Accounting and Finance

    Summary: This position is responsible for the oversight and management of the daily activities of the Accounting staff in a fast paced environment.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Oversee the operations of the accounting department including leading and training the accounting staff.
    • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
    • Manage all accounting operations including Bank reconciliation, Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
    • Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operation reports for the plant.
    • Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
    • Must work across all levels of the company to achieve plant objectives.
    • Collaborates with General Manager, Plant accountants and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.
    • Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
    • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and with multiple state sales tax filings.
    • Prepare information as required for the annual financial audit.
    • Prepare all G/L account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while remaining organized and professional.
    • Develop all accounting policies and procedures consistent with GAAP and other accounting guidance

    Qualification and Experience

    • B.A degree in Accounting required.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience with 4 years in a supervisory role, or equivalent experience.
    • Manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Advanced working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Work/Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
    • May be required to work outside normal business hours.
  • Compensation
    $140,000 per year
