Position Overview

We are a food manufacturing company seeking a Controller or ERP Implementation Lead to support and modernize our financial systems and accounting operations.

This role is intentionally flexible and can be shaped around the strengths of the right candidate. We are open to hiring either:

• A traditional Controller with strong ERP and manufacturing accounting experience, or

• A systems-first ERP professional with deep experience leading ERP migrations who may not have held a formal Controller title

The immediate priority is successfully migrating our ERP system from Microsoft Great Plains to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Depending on background, this role may evolve into a long-term Controller position or remain focused on systems leadership during and after implementation.

About the Role

This position blends financial systems ownership, implementation leadership, and operational partnership. It is ideal for someone who thrives in execution-heavy environments, understands how ERP systems support product-based businesses, and can work collaboratively with accounting teams and leadership.

We value practical experience over titles. Candidates with strong ERP migration expertise will be seriously considered even if their accounting background is limited.

Key Responsibilities (Adjusted Based on Background)

• Lead or co-lead the ERP migration from Microsoft Great Plains to Dynamics 365 Business Central

• Own ERP system administration, configuration, and process alignment

• Work closely with accounting, operations, and leadership to ensure systems support real business needs

• Translate business workflows (inventory, purchasing, sales, invoicing, costing) into ERP structure

• Support accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, and reporting (scope adjusted by experience)

• Ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and smooth change adoption across teams

• Partner with external consultants or vendors as needed

• Help stabilize and optimize financial systems post-implementation

Required Background (One of the Following)

Option 1: Controller Track

• Controller or senior accounting experience in a product-based or manufacturing environment

• Strong ERP experience, including Great Plains and/or Business Central

• Experience with inventory, cost accounting, and operational finance

OR

Option 2: ERP / Systems Track

• Hands-on experience leading or heavily supporting ERP implementations or migrations

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central

• Experience working with accounting teams, finance data, and operational workflows

• Comfortable operating in environments involving inventory, materials, sales, and costing

• Does not need prior Controller title or full accounting ownership
