As we scale, we’re looking for a financial leader to help guide our next phase of growth.
Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-driven Controller to oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, cash management, and internal controls. This role will lead the accounting function and work closely with leadership on budgeting, analysis, and financial strategy.
You will manage everything from month-end closes to multi-location inventory reconciliation and help implement systems that scale with the business. Experience in retail, inventory-heavy environments, or multi-entity operations is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Own the full accounting function, including GL, AP/AR, bank recs, and monthly closes
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Maintain and improve internal controls, financial processes, and cost tracking
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across retail, e-commerce, and buying teams
Reconcile and manage inventory across retail stores, warehouse, and marketplaces
Manage sales tax compliance across multiple states and platforms
Oversee payroll coordination and benefits reporting in collaboration with HR
Assist in strategic planning, margin optimization, and financial modeling
Evaluate accounting software, POS, and ERP integrations for future scalability
Work closely with ownership to provide insights and financial recommendations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required)
5–10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
Experience in retail, e-commerce, or multi-entity businesses is strongly preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets, and financial reporting tools
Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, COGS, and reconciliations
Detail-oriented, hands-on leader with strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
