Our client, an established, privately owned specialty manufacturer located in central Mississippi is looking to add an experienced Controller to their team. The position will lead the company’s accounting operations and drive continuous improvement in financial processes. This on-site role will work directly with the CFO in overseeing the monthly close, supporting system implementation efforts, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of workflows.
• Oversee implementation of a new accounting/ERP system.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Provide financial oversight for manufacturing, construction, and distribution activities, ensuring proper cost accounting and project tracking.
• Support audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or distribution.
• Strong expertise in the financial close process and process improvement.
• Hands-on experience with accounting or ERP system implementations.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting and operational finance.
• Ability to work on-site full time.
