    Position Overview

    Paul Davis Restoration of South Atlanta is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations.

    This position is a key member of our Leadership Team and will play an important role in supporting the overall financial health and growth of the company. The Controller will provide financial insight, help drive operational decisions, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the company has accurate and timely financial information to make informed decisions.

    This is an in-office position based in our South Atlanta office. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative leadership team and is comfortable working closely with both office and operational teams in a fast-paced environment.

    The ideal candidate has strong accounting and leadership experience, preferably within construction, restoration, or another project-based industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations

    Manage and support the accounting team while promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

    Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports

    Manage month-end and year-end close processes

    Ensure balance sheet reconciliations and financial records are accurate and up to date

    Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and other accounting functions

    Manage job cost accounting and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting

    Monitor job and project costs to help ensure accurate financial reporting and profitability

    Partner with department leaders to review financial performance, identify concerns, and support decision-making

    Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis

    Monitor company financial performance and provide leadership with meaningful insight into trends and opportunities

    Manage cash flow forecasting and banking activities

    Coordinate audits, tax filings, licenses, and other financial compliance requirements

    Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes

    Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and efficiency

    Actively participate as a member of the Leadership Team and contribute to the overall direction and success of the company

    Qualifications

    5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience

    Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting experience preferred

    Construction, restoration, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred

    Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and project profitability

    Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements

    Experience managing or leading an accounting team

    Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls

    Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting systems

    Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and operational leaders

    Detail-oriented with a high level of accountability and confidentiality

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
