    About the Opportunity:

    Based in our state-of-the-art Charlotte, NC office, the Controller will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for the integrity and efficiency of all financial functions. This role offers the chance to work in a collaborative environment in one of the Southeast's fastest-growing business hubs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage all aspects of the firm's financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing, primarily from our Charlotte headquarters.
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually) in accordance with GAAP, providing insightful analysis to firm management.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts, contributing to strategic planning sessions held in our Charlotte office.
    • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal liquidity and prudent financial practices.
    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard firm assets and ensure financial compliance.
    • Manage the year-end audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.
    • Oversee banking relationships and cash management.
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
    • Evaluate and optimize financial systems and processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
    • Provide critical financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by firm leadership.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification highly preferred.
    • 8+ years of progressive accounting management experience.
    • Big 4 experience + and progressive accounting and finance experience, with significant Controller experience required.
    • Proven experience working within the service industry, i.e., law firm, engineering, or architecture firm
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Compensation: $130,000 - $180,000
