Controller / Senior Controller (Manufacturing) Your Role & Responsibilities
As Controller / Senior Controller, you will oversee all accounting operations and maintain full responsibility for financial reporting and cost accounting.
You will:
Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team, including direct oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and future team members as growth continues
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and GAAP-compliant financial statements
Maintain full general ledger accountability and financial statement integrity
Prepare and review executive-level financial reporting packages
Oversee inventory accounting and manufacturing cost accounting, including labor, materials, overhead analysis, standard costing, and rate calculations
Ensure proper revenue recognition within a sophisticated manufacturing environment
Drive cash management, forecasting, and liquidity planning initiatives
Partner with the CFO on cash flow strategy and broader financial planning
Strengthen internal controls and implement scalable accounting processes to support rapid expansion
Analyze production costs, margins, and operational performance metrics
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning
Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and prepare audit schedules
Evaluate and improve ERP systems and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Controller / Senior Controller (Manufacturing) What You Bring
Required:
Deep manufacturing accounting experience (contract manufacturing / EMS strongly preferred)
Significant cost accounting expertise
Strong GAAP knowledge with hands-on ownership of the close process
Experience preparing full financial statements
Demonstrated team leadership experience
Preferred:
Background supporting aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, electronics, or related OEM manufacturing sectors
Public accounting experience
CPA or CMA certification
Experience in a public-company or SOX-regulated environment (valuable for future growth initiatives)
Experience with JobBOSS ERP
Familiarity with DCAA or DCMA audits and government contract accounting

Base compensation ranges from $165,000 to $195,000, depending on experience and depth of manufacturing accounting expertise.
