    Financial Controller (Skincare)

    About Dieux

At Dieux, we're deeply committed to results. We make clinically vetted and price-transparent skincare and are on a mission to remove the guesswork from beauty. We believe in using education and information to help people make empowered skincare decisions—not shame, fear, or misinformation.

    About the Role

Reporting to the CFO/Head of Operations, the Controller will manage all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, with a key focus on the cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory, and co-manufacturing operations. This role plays a vital part in partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, and senior leadership to ensure financial clarity and efficiency as we scale. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and rolling up their sleeves—someone who can navigate high-level financial planning while also perform day-to-day functions like AP, AR, and reconciliations.

Prior experience within skincare/cosmetics is required for this role.

Candidates should be based in the New York City area as this is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in our Brooklyn, NY office.

    Key Responsibilities (What You'll Dieux)

    • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
    • Manage all accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and cost accounting.
    • Partner cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve financial visibility into co-manufacturing agreements and performance.
    • Own COGS analysis, standard costing, and margin reporting across multiple product lines.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls and compliance policies across finance functions.
    • Oversee the cash flow model and reporting accuracy.
    • Support budget preparation, variance analysis, and strategic planning.
    • Oversee the biweekly payroll process with our PEO.
    • Coordinate annual audits and maintain strong relationships with external auditors.
    • Identify opportunities for process automation and ERP upgrades.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA a plus.
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
    • Experience in the skincare, beauty, or CPG industry required.
    • Strong understanding of co-manufacturing financial processes and supply chain cost drivers.
    • Proven track record managing inventory, COGS, and standard costing in a manufacturing or outsourced environment.
    • Hands-on approach: willing and able to manage both high-level planning and day-to-day responsibilities (AP, AR, reconciliations, etc.).
    • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • ERP system experience (QBO and NetSuite preferred); strong Excel and analytical skills.
    • Comfortable working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial setting.
