Controller

Overview 
Our manufacturing industry client is confidentially seeking a Controller in the Washington, DC area. This role oversees core accounting operations and ensures accurate reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls. Candidates must have recent experience within the heavy manufacturing or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  

• Oversee AP/AR, billing, collections, general ledger, and month-end close.
  

• Complete and review bank reconciliations and financial reports.
  

• Coordinate with CPA firms on tax filings and compliance.
  

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking.
  

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a Controller or Accounting Manager–level position.
  

• Heavy manufacturing or construction industry experience required.
  

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  

• Hands-on experience with AP/AR and month-end close.
  

• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
