Jennie Joiner with Forum Group PNW is seeking a hands-on, driven Controller to oversee all accounting functions for our fast-growing manufacturing client. The Controller will report to an out of state Corporate Controller and lead the Salem location’s financial and accounting operations and serve as a strategic partner to the plant leadership team. This is a highly visible role for a finance professional who thrives in an independent, fast-paced environment and is eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including monthly financial statements, reporting, and analysis.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Manage working capital reporting, including weekly cash flow projections.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to plant management and corporate leadership.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accuracy.
- Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Lead annual physical inventory and reconciliation efforts.
- Support audits and third-party financial reviews.
- Provide business case analysis for capital projects and operational decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (experience valued over formal education).
- CPA or MBA a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains, Macola, or similar) a plus.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Proven ability to streamline and improve financial processes.
- High proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
