About the Role:

Vogelpohl Fire Equipment Inc is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Controller to join our team in Erlanger, KY. This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee the financial operations of the company. Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies

Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee financial risk management

Lead and mentor accounting staff to maintain a high-performing finance team

Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial advisors

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role

Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Experience in a product-based or service industry environment is a plus

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
