Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
We are looking to hire a results-driven Controller to join and lead our Finance efforts. This hire will be a key contributor to the company's future growth. The individual will spearhead the Company’s financial reporting and forecasting, annual budgeting, and annual audit, as well as other strategic initiatives across the organization. This position will report to the CEO and work collaboratively with others as a leadership team member.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Bookkeeping
Payroll administration of officer and staff salaries and benefits
Bookkeeping to GAAP standards
Accrual reporting for investors. Book to tax reconciliations
Create and send invoices and manage collections process
Develop and manage spending policies and expense tracking; implement company wide financial controls
**Monthly reconciliation of bank & credit card accounts **
Strategic Finance
Spearhead development of annual budget, including budget meetings with each department
Monthly management reports & KPIs in collaboration with CEO, COO and CBO
Maintain contract database for reporting of SaaS metrics
Operations Support
Collaborate with CBO and go-to-market team to assist with development of operational procedure improvements in go-to-market systems (HubSpot)
Ensure that our financial processes map back to operational procedures
CPA/Audit Review
Work with company management and investors to evaluate outside CPA firm to conduct annual audit and support tax filings
Manage that outside CPA firm to perform an annual audit.
Manage that outside CPA firm to manage tax filings
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Relevant finance and accounting experience. CPA license is preferred
Excellent proficiency in financial theory, forecasting, and financial (US GAAP) accounting
Data-driven with exceptional quantitative analysis skills, including advanced Excel modeling
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
Strong work ethic with an ability to focus on complex financial problems; strong detail orientation and commitment to accuracy
Start-up experience (willingness to roll up the sleeves and do what needs to be done), preferably in a B2B SaaS-based company; self motivated and able to work independently
Ability to think strategically and creatively
Natural preference and ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team environment
Experience with QuickBooks; experience with HubSpot is a plus
Experience with transaction-based revenue models is preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Preference for in-person (Salt Lake City area) but open to hybrid/remote
