Controller
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller. The primary role will be to oversee financial reporting, general ledger operations, and compliance, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable departments
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures to ensure compliance.
- Conducts bank covenant analysis.
- Involved with process improvement projects.
- Supervises and develops accounting department staff.
- Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger, financial reporting and gross profit margin by product group.
- Negotiate insurance.
- Lead year-end financial statement audit, mid-year audit, quarterly reviews and tax return preparation with external auditors.
- Understands and supervises all aspects of cash flow, working jointly with finance manager including preparing, updating cash flow projections and liquidity requirements and bank covenants.
- Monitor receivables ledger and advises COO of any potential customer credit issues.
- Ensure internal control of the environment in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley testing and other procedures as needed.
- Support ongoing system maintenance, upgrades and enhancements of the financial systems (general ledger and support systems) and related reporting
- Prepare regulatory reports as required by government agencies and stakeholders
- Track capital project spending, timing and cost impact against project plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 12+ years of accounting work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Technical accounting expertise with a solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Extensive experience in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience with ERP systems and their integration with accounting functions is a plus. Epicor is preferred
