Controls Engineer
Location: Greater Madison, WI area
Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000
Relocation: Available for the right person

A CPG manufacturer in southern Wisconsin is hiring a Controls Engineer to support plant automation, troubleshoot production issues, and improve equipment reliability across multiple facilities.

This is a hands-on role for someone who knows Allen-Bradley systems, can work directly on the plant floor, and has real experience in Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturing.

What you’ll do

• Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment in a live production environment
• Program and modify PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and drive systems
• Diagnose controls and electrical issues including sensors, wiring, and related components
• Support equipment failure investigations and help drive corrective action
• Partner with maintenance and operations to improve uptime and performance
• Train maintenance team members on controls troubleshooting

What we’re looking for

• Engineering degree required
• 3-5 years of controls, automation, or industrial maintenance experience
• Strong Allen-Bradley / Rockwell background
• Experience with RSLogix 500 and 5000
• Ability to troubleshoot both programming and hardware issues
• Prior CPG industry experience preferred
• Must be able to work onsite and travel locally between nearby facilities
