    Job Description:

    The Controls Engineer is a mid-to-senior level position at Three Phase. Our projects typically involve the development of solutions using a variety of automation technologies and platforms. These technologies are deployed for the control of automated industrial process in data centers, water/wastewater, central plants, power plants, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and chemical processing. You will be developing custom PLC/HMI assignments that include HMI design/development and PLC controls system design and development for projects of varying size and complexity. Our ideal candidate will have strong experience with a mix of PLCs, databases and/or other machine vision platforms.

    Job Location: The Controls Engineering position is remote work with office and client site visits. We would prefer this person to be based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area or Austin, TX area.

    Background and Work Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline

    Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness

    5+ years of related controls or automation engineering experience

    Knowledge of control systems integration project lifecycle and the application of electrical design, PLC ladder logic & HMI development and commissioning

    PLC programming experience with RSLogix 5000, Siemens and other PLC programming software

    SCADA experience with at least once of the following: RSView, FactoryTalk, Ignition, InTouch or System Platform

    Understanding of networking including: ethernet, Modbus, BACnet or other industrial protocols

    Highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, Bluebeam, and the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook

    Excellent customer service and teamwork skills

    Willingness and ability to adapt to different work environments and changing circumstances

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Design and implement client/server software for standalone client systems based on project specifications

    Work with clients to define user, network and data interfaces and create specifications based on client requirements

    Commission new solutions on client sites and find opportunities for improvement

    Characterize production and component tests; validate and verify system functionality

    Onsite system programming, debugging and testing

    Ensure work quality standards are met and maintained

    Provide and maintain engineering support for existing company installed systems

    Write documentation including project engineering notes, MOP's, SOO's, user manuals, FAT & commissioning documents and instructions

    Work with sales to provide input during quote preparation

    Personal drive to learn new technologies and build your technical background

    Travel Requirements: Typical travel for this position is ~ 30-40% within the United States. Most programming development is completed remotely prior to onsite commissioning. The Controls Engineer will be required to travel for site visits, installation, start-up, commissioning and training.
