Technology Analyst (Support Focus) - Design Technologies

Position Summary
The primary focus for a technology analyst on the AEC Support team will be to support the AEC team, including the software, vendors, and end users that they assist. This role focuses on maintaining standards, optimizing workflows, and documenting updates for the teams and software that we support corporately. This includes, but is not limited to, providing technical support for detailers, engineers, VDC teams, and other groups on AEC processes, assisting with vendor management, and helping maintain documentation for internal and end-user processes integral to the project lifecycle across Southland’s national footprint. The position will require strong problem-solving skills, a user-centric approach to technical support, and exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities with an emphasis on relationship building across the organization.
Position Details
Relationship Building/Management
* Effectively build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including fellow AEC team members, detailers, engineers, IT, and divisional leadership, to ensure alignment on Southland goals and strategies.
* Involvement in communications with AEC technology vendors (e.g., Autodesk, EaglePoint Software, Symetri) regarding contracts, customer support, and vendor feedback.
* Collaborate with Southland internal teams and external vendors to ensure Southland’s standards are being met, and new standards are being integrated properly.
* Provide clear communication to employees at all levels regarding AEC support tickets and assist with troubleshooting for end users and support desk agents.
Workflow Optimization
* Work closely with divisional teams, vendors, and business units to configure support processes, workflows, and documentation based on organizational needs.
* Analyze current design processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and potential improvements to enhance accuracy and productivity.
* Technology Deployment
* Support end-to-end implementation of AEC technology initiatives such as new applications, software alignment efforts, and training across Southland.
* Ensure seamless integration of AEC technology processes into existing workflows and assist with documentation and turnover.
* Stay informed on emerging technologies, evaluating their impact on existing systems, and identifying opportunities for adoption.
Change Management
* Assist in the development and execution of change management strategies for new AEC workflows to ensure smooth adoption and minimize disruption.
* Participate in vendor feedback loops to gather insights from AEC teams and end users to continuously improve technology and refine processes.
* Contribute to onboarding and training programs to ensure team members and end users have access to necessary knowledge and resources.
Support and Documentation
* Provide ongoing technical support to detailers, engineers, VDC teams, and other groups, troubleshooting issues and ensuring software and processes function as expected.
* Assist in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for SharePoint/Southland Intranet pages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
* Work with AEC teams to develop and maintain onboarding and training materials for AEC workflows and technologies.
* Create, review, and maintain IT support knowledge articles in the ITSM platform for internal support teams.
Strategic Planning & Governance
* Collaborate with the Design Technologies team to align strategic technology goals with corporate AEC, IT, and Southland objectives.
* Assist in the development and execution of technology strategies that support Southland's business goals and divisional project needs.
* Help ensure that Southland standards are consistent across divisions in accordance with enterprise standards.
* Support scalable technology solutions for Southland's national footprint and assist with multi-site rollouts.
* Work with AEC and IT teams to prioritize feedback and initiatives across the organization.
* Maintain awareness of divisional progress and regional needs to inform strategic decisions.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Revit technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with MEP processes, VDC, and construction project workflows.
Experience supporting design technology users in production environments preferred.
Strong active listening and empathy skills.
General knowledge of the MEP engineering and construction industry.
Basic knowledge of construction project management platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360/ACC, or similar).
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is a plus but not required.
Ability to meet people where they are and assist them through change management to reach desired outcomes.
In-depth understanding of relevant design technologies, technical principles, and broad knowledge of related disciplines.
Ability to work on complex issues.
Understanding of IT services and ITSM support environments.
Experience creating or maintaining knowledge articles or intranet content preferred.
The position might require out-of-state travel to divisional offices.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado/New York City/California/Washington/Maryland) this ranges from $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
