JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Web Developer who is motivated to work on web pages providing data to a cutting-edge data analytics platform, combining the simple page design with the precision and efficiency of ‘big-data’ analytics programming. Responsibilities will include design/implementation of HTML front ends for web pages, and heavy-duty data manipulation to capture, transform, and transmit data from those pages using Javascript. You will work with the back-end server team, client managers, and data scientists, taking an active role in defining how the web pages look and especially how they work.

This position is Javascript-heavy.  Using Javascript and tools to make responsive, functional web pages is the focus, not front-end design or HTML-only page markup.  If you aren’t a Javascript programming Ninja, this isn’t the job for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Develop new HTML pages using existing templates or from scratch

·       Build reusable Javascript code for data collection and transmission

·       Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, and operability of the Javascript that makes them work

·       Optimize pages for maximum reliability and function

·       Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

·       Work with ‘big data’ server back-end using REST interface

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

·       Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3

·       Complete, expert understanding of Javascript client-side scripting and tools/libraries, including jQuery, jQueryUI, and d3.js

·       Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

·       Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git and Bitbucket, and reporting tools such as JIRA.

·       Understanding of design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Suite, Sketch, InVision

·       Degree or equivalent work/school experience in Computer Science, Web Development, Full Stack Development

·       Experienced in working with marketing teams and providing solutions to creative opportunities
