+--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | POSITION PURPOSE: The Intake Coordinator is responsible for developing, | | implementing and monitoring CMT Intake Programs, analyze claim loss and | | cost reserve data and monitor claims processing. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE | | WITH WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS, PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS AND COMFORTABLE | | WORKING WITH ADJUSTERS AND NURSE CASE MANAGERS. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: | | | | Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: | | | | - Responsible for the DME business aspects of arranging care regarding | | insurance verification, coverage limits and identifying and | | qualifying medical documentation requirements as applicable. | | | | - Manage incoming referrals and maintain track of all inquiries and | | responses provided. | | | | - Utilize Salesforce to conduct day-to-day business responsibilities | | according to standard operating procedures. | | | | - Responsible for incoming and outgoing, high volume telephone calls | | acting as liaison for insurance companies and sales reps to process | | prior authorizations, appeals and updates. | | | | - Provide efficient, accurate and timely updates to sales reps and | | instruct on payer coverage criteria. | | | | - Research required information using available resources to complete | | referral submissions and updates. | | | | - Provide training for new intake specialists as needed. | | | | - Identify and escalate priority issues to Intake Manager for timely | | completion of referrals. | | | | - Other duties may be assigned as applicable. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: | | | | To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform | | each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are | | representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. | | Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with | | disabilities to perform the essential functions. | | | | EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE | | | | 1-year customer service experience preferably with insurance | | verification or DME experience. 3 years of experience working with | | workers’ compensation claims and commercial insurance claims as an | | intake specialist is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in addition | | to experience but may not be substituted for experience. | | | | LANGUAGE SKILLS | | | | Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, | | professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental | | regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and | | procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and | | respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and | | the general public. | | | | MATHEMATICAL SKILLS | | | | Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, | | commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of | | basic algebra and geometry. | | | | REASONING ABILITY | | | | Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw | | valid conclusions.
