  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Candidate will be expected to perform the following functions or tasks as well as have the aptitude to learn how to perform the following functions or tasks:

    ·       Conduct technical security assessments and recommend security upgrades to deter terrorism and technical espionage.

    ·       Identify security risks, analyze those risks, and specify system requirements and procedural measures to ensure the integrity of stand-alone computers and network information systems.

    ·       Produce a variety of written documents including memoranda, trip reports, telegraphic communications with posts; and engineering surveys or service reports detailing specific engineering services planned or performed.

    ·       Specify, design, procure, install equipment or products for technical security and information technology systems, such as:

    o   Technical systems/closed-circuit television, intrusion detection and alarms, locking devices, access control and denial systems, countermeasures equipment, and acoustic/RF attenuation technologies.

    o   Computer systems/encryption, firewalls, forensics, network intrusion monitoring, and system security audit products.

    ·       Reading, interpreting, and drawing electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics.

    ·       Reading and interpreting building plans (blueprints).

    ·       AC power distribution systems, motor-generators.

    ·       Motors, motor controls, disconnects, relays.

    ·       Low voltage DC electronic systems / electromechanical systems.

    ·       Mechanical and electromechanical locking systems – electronic strikes, locks.

    ·       Pedestrian and vehicular access control systems – door controls, vehicle barriers/arrest.

    ·       Closed-circuit television systems (CCTV) systems – monitors, cameras, switchers

    ·       Metal detectors – hand held, walk through.

    ·       Radio communications systems, voice and digital communications networks.

    ·       Intrusion Detection Systems – alarms, detectors, sensors.

    ·       Public Address Systems – emergency notification systems, intercoms.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    CLEARANCE:  N/A (ability to obtain Secret Clearance or higher)

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology or similar discipline. Experience and/or military training can be considered in lieu of the degree accompanied by other desired certifications such as CSEIP, PSP, CPP, MCSE, and various security manufacturing certifications. 

    OTHER PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:  AutoCAD

    • GENERAL EXPERIENCE: The individual shall also have at least three (3) years of current experience in conducting technical security assessments; site surveys, equipment take offs, product evaluations, bill of material (BOM) production, performing technical needs assessments and recommending security upgrades

    CERTIFICATION:

    Certifications such as CCNA or MCSE is a plus but not required. Desired manufacturer certificates such as Lenel, Software House, Identiv, Vindicator, AMAG, DAQ, etc. are a plus as well.
