    Job Description

    CFS is seeking a Business Development Manager. The position will report to our corporate office in the San Diego area. The candidate will be responsible for increasing project and program wins in DoD and Civilian agencies in the region; developing in-depth understanding of customer requirements and positioning Convergint Federal capabilities to support security program success. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •Develop pipeline of opportunities to meet regional annual and five-year strategic plan.

    •Have a strong network of DOD customer contacts

    •Familiar with DOD acquisition and budget cycles

    •Familiar with current Navy programs

    •Provide strategic direction and leadership; develop comprehensive business development plans; identify and qualify new business opportunities.

    •Collaborate with partner companies to develop acquisition and bid strategies, support competitive analysis, and with bidding winning solutions

    •Assist technical solutions team to identify and implement innovative projects related to products or services that assist with new business market development

    •Understanding of Services Contracts (LOE, SETA, CAAS)

    •Develop reports, briefings, and other management materials to support Executive Management decision making

    •Prepare and brief pursuit Gate Reviews to executive leadership

    •Manage a documented pipeline of strategically relevant business opportunities

    •Build capture strategies for each opportunity and support capture and proposal development

    •Develop and disseminate information on a continual basis to all pertinent parties concerning fulfillment of project goals and objectives

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    •5 recent years of C4ISR, Physical Security, or related experience

    •Shipley or equivalent capture management training

    •Detailed knowledge of the Federal procurement process

    •Demonstrated ability to identify and capture programs working with minimal supervision

    •Effective leader/ participant in formal presentations to customer and potential partners

    •Proven track record of building winning teams as well as successful negotiation with potential team members as to roles and participation

    •Strong written and oral communication skills

    •Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM

    DESIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or a minimum of 12 years business  experience.

    Additional Information

    This position requires expertise in all phases of Federal Business Development and Capture. In this role, as the Business Development leader for Federal contracting in the South West, you are expected to thrive in an environment where you are responsible for the management and execution of the full BD life cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals in a high-paced environment. You are expected to identify gaps and emerging requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence, design and execute formal capture plans, and monitor competitor activity. You will develop the overall BD strategy, as well as internal and external partnerships, campaigns and associated marketing with the AOR. You will coordinate and leverage the support team of account executives, capture managers, and BD analysts, in achievement of defined short and long-term business development goals. You will maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and execute cost-effective win strategies to achieve annual financial objectives. Essentially, you will drive CFS‘ expertise and regional resources to anticipate and achieve our customers mission objectives.
