About the Role:
Children's Village Inc. in Cambridge, MA is looking for a ServSafe-certified, passionate, and dedicated Cook to join our team! In this role, you'll play a vital part in nourishing the children and staff we serve by preparing wholesome, delicious meals in a warm and caring environment. Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for children and staff daily
Follow established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines to ensure consistency
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with food safety standards
Monitor food inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste
Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs
Assist with meal planning and menu development as needed
Collaborate with kitchen and program staff to ensure smooth meal service
Requirements:
Prior experience as a cook, food service worker, or in a commercial kitchen setting
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and health code regulations
ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Ability to prepare meals for large groups efficiently and on schedule
Experience accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, and special meal plans
Reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Compassionate, team-oriented attitude with a passion for serving children and families
