About the Role:

Join Cornerstone Preschool and Childcare as a Cook, where you will play a vital role in nourishing the minds and bodies of our young learners. We are seeking a passionate individual who loves creating healthy, delicious meals in a fun, engaging environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children, adhering to licensing guidelines.

Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Plan weekly menus, grocery lists, and make grocery shopping runs.

Be comfortable catering to various dietary restrictions and preferences.

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.

Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and educational experiences.

Engage with children during mealtimes to foster a positive dining atmosphere.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to stoop, bend, lift up to 60lbs., and stand up to 95% of the day.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.

Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Must pass a background check and comply with health and safety regulations.

Complete required number of hours in staff development activities, in-service training and workshops per year.

Preferred but not required:

Food Safe Certificate

Food Specialist: Food handler's certificate

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in childcare.

Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.
