Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of a Client Advisor in Small Commercial Insurance (Select) is to develop, quote and bind new business opportunities on accounts of $7,500 and under in revenue. It is the expectation that the opportunities placed come from self-developed efforts through cold-calling, prospecting, networking and targeted marketing in addition to working account rounding opportunities on our current Select book. Select Commercial Salespeople (Client Advisors) are expected to perform many of the tasks independently and will be supported with formal training, state licensing and guidance from a unit manager, service team and experienced colleagues.
Critical Job Functions:
Identifying and qualifying sales leads generated from a variety of sources (cold-calling, developing centers of influence, working with partner carriers, etc.)
Proactively make appointments with prospects
Qualify new business opportunities
Develop close, trusting ongoing relationships with clients and business associates
Counsel and advise prospects and clients on technical insurance concepts and coverage
Developing and attaining new business objectives
Ability to quote, bind and issue policies using available resources and technology
Ability to effectively and efficiently transition the account to the Select service team once placed
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in sales or client service preferred
Highly effective communication skills both oral and written
Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills
Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a semi-autonomous environment
Analytical skills to understand complex coverage details and underwriting guidelines
Ability to obtain insurance license upon hire
Education: 4-year College Degree
