POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cook is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of culinary services for our guests. He/she is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills. You should be knowledgeable, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients as necessary.
Helps set up the entire kitchen prior to the restaurant's opening.
Creative and ability to present your own dishes and show your culinary passion and have input on dishes to add to our menu.
Coordinates daily food supply inventory for the cafeteria and submits necessary orders to the supervisor.
Works the food line preparing menu items, training and supervising kitchen staff where necessary.
Wraps unused items and stores in proper areas at the end of a shift and shuts off all equipment at the station.
Participates in cleaning the rest of the kitchen before the restaurant closes for the night.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
Tasked to track and report any food waste.
May perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
Must have a great attitude.
Excellent customer service skills.
Working knowledge of food and food preparation.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment.
Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Restaurant Experience preferred.
