Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in flavor, presentation, and portion size.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing new ideas and seasonal dishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by following proper sanitation and safety protocols.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance issues to the Kitchen Manager.
- Manage food inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies, while minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely delivery of orders.
- Train and mentor junior cooks and kitchen staff as needed, promoting best practices and teamwork.
- Monitor food quality and portion control, making adjustments as necessary to meet guest expectations.
- Maintain knowledge of cooking techniques, food trends, and dietary restrictions to accommodate diverse customer needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen setting (2+ years preferred).
- Culinary degree or equivalent training is a plus.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Creativity and passion for food, with a desire to continuously learn and improve culinary skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
