Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team at our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will take pride in preparing nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, promoting their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to established menus and recipes, ensuring timeliness and consistency in food quality.
- Accommodate specific dietary requirements and preferences of residents, including but not limited to diabetic, low-sodium, and low-cholesterol diets.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering and receiving supplies, and ensure proper storage of food products.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and management to coordinate meal service and cater to special events or requests.
- Engage with residents to receive feedback and adjust meals or menus as necessary to enhance their dining experience.
- Comply with all regulatory expectations and guidelines related to food service in an assisted living facility.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in an assisted living, healthcare, or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of nutrition and specialized dietary needs of elderly residents.
- Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation.
- Valid food handler's certification or ability to obtain one upon hire.
