About the Role:

La Esquina Mexican Grill in Thousand Oaks, CA is looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team! Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook authentic Mexican menu items to order with consistency and quality

Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and food presentation standards

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift

Monitor food inventory, freshness, and proper storage procedures

Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service during peak hours

Adhere to all food safety and health code regulations

Assist with prep work including chopping, marinating, and sauce preparation

Requirements:

Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or prep cook required

Familiarity with Mexican cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment

Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
