Job Description:

- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of part of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test lab.

Typical task breakdown:

- Help client setup for test.

- Run tests.

- Troubleshoot failures found during testing.

- Whenever possible, provide regulatory and RF physics consulting help to clients.

- Document test results.

Interaction with team:

- Work with Sr. Technicians to plan tests and maintain test equipment.

- Work with EMC Engineers to provide EMC consulting about designs and regulations.

- Work with clients to troubleshoot their products and ensure test methods cover possible field conditions.

Work environment:

- EMC test lab.

- Onsite 100>#br###Education & Experience Required:

- 2-year electronics degree preferred

- 0-2 years’ relevant experience

Technical Skills

(Required)

- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on a variety of systems (ex – repairing vehicles, building computers, etc)

(Desired)

- Understanding of basic electronics concepts such capacitance.

- Soldering, crimping, reading a circuit diagram.

- Understanding of Radio Frequency physics.

- Ham radio or software defined radio work or hobby

- General electronics experience

- Radio Frequency electronics experience

- Electronic lab equipment like Spectrum analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Amplifies, Signal Generators, and Network Analyzers.

- General computer use, MS office, etc.
